    • Enjoy a walk along one of the many dog-friendly beaches in North Norfolk - there's something for everyone, whether you want to paddle in the shallows or go for a long hike along the sand dunes. Just make sure you keep your dog on a lead during bird nesting season (March-September).

    • Visit Holkham Hall - this spectacular stately home is set in acres of parkland which is perfect for a leisurely stroll with your four-legged friend. Dogs are welcome in most areas but must be kept on a lead at all times.

    • Take a look around Holme Dunes National Nature Reserve - another beautiful spot for an autumnal walk with your pooch, where you can also enjoy views out to sea. Dogs should be kept on leads around livestock though.

    • Check out the Sandringham Estate - a lovely spot for a family walk with the dog, where you can also explore the ancient woodlands and meadows. Dogs should be kept on leads in certain areas though.

    The North Norfolk Coastline is a beautiful place to cycle. With so much coastline to explore, the North Norfolk Coast is ideal for cyclists of all abilities. For those looking for an easy ride, head west from Hunstanton along the coastal path towards Heacham. This route is flat and mainly off-road, making it ideal for families with young children.

    If you’re looking for something a little more challenging, then try riding from Sheringham to Holt along the coast path. This route is hilly in parts but the stunning views make it worthwhile!

    For experienced cyclists, there are plenty of routes to explore further inland. Head out from Fakenham through some of Norfolk’s prettiest villages including Melton Constable, Holt and Sheringham. With quiet roads and few hills, this makes for a great day out on the bike.

    With an impressive number of nature reserves and country parks, the Norfolk coastline is one of Britain’s most beautiful. Along its winding paths you will encounter a variety of landscapes from beaches to sand dunes, salt marshes to coastal heathland – not forgetting stunning vistas across the North Sea. The varied habitat provides a home for many rare species including water voles, otters, marsh harriers and nightingales. The RSPB reserves at Cley Marshes and Titchwell Marsh are excellent examples with both offering hideouts where birdwatchers can closely observe their feathered friends in action. 

    At Holme Dunes on the north coast between Old Hunstanton and Thornham, there are also plenty of opportunities to see birds such as little terns which nest on these scrapes (areas clear from scrub). Visitors can even try their hand at beachcombing or rock pooling whilst enjoying this unspoilt stretch along what is known as The Wash National Nature Reserve - England’s largest area of protected coastline!

    Of course, it isn't just wildlife that you'll find along your travels but also picturesque villages set against captivating backdrops... How about Blakeney Point? A short 20-minute drive from Heacham and you’ll reach this stunning headland. It is a great place to enjoy a walk as it offers wonderful views of the surrounding coastline along with an abundance of bird life – perfect for wildlife enthusiasts

The Hunstanton Sea Life centre is also home to the UK's only resident colony of Gentoo penguins and visitors can watch them being fed twice a day.
