Sheringham is a quintessential North Norfolk seaside town, full of independent shops, great street food, cafes and pubs. This historic Coastline is known for its abundance of fossils and makes for the perfect day out at the beach.
Blakeney is a small hamlet of a seaside town, it has miles upon miles of marshland with winding sea rivers that are ideal for kayaking and paddleboarding. Many families flock to Blakeney to go crabbing and of course, to visit the Grey & Harbour Seals that flock here every year to bird their cubs.
There are many different types of beaches, so it's important to research the specific beach you're interested in visiting before making any plans. Some beaches may have restrictions on camping, fires, alcohol, or even dogs. Many of our beaches are very dog friendly but it is always best to check
The Norfolk Coast Path
One of the best places to take your dog for a walk is The Norfolk Coast Path. With miles upon miles of hiking through Norfolk's Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, your dog will be in sensory heaven with so much to explore! The sea is always close by for a splash to cool off and there are many great places to stop along the way such as Hunstanton, Wells-next-the-Sea and Sheringham.
You can start at one end of the coast and walk to the other or you can choose one of the many circular walks along the path for you to enjoy. Whatever you choose you are sure to have an adventure along The Norfolk Coast Path.
Be sure to bring plenty of dog poop bags with you on your journey to keep our Coast Path Clean!
Baconsthorpe Castle
A must-see at any time of the year, visit the extensive ruins of Baconsthorpe Castle, a moated and fortified 15th-century manor house, that are a testament to the rise and fall of a prominent Norfolk family, the Heydons. Over 200 years, successive generations of this ambitious family built, then enlarged, and finally abandoned this castle.
Sir John Heydon probably built the strong inner gatehouse during the turbulent Wars of the Roses period, and his son Sir Henry, whose memorial can be seen in Baconsthorpe Church, completed the fortified house. In more peaceful times, their descendants converted part of the property into a textile factory, and then added the turreted Elizabethan outer gateway, inhabited until 1920.
The castle is free to visit anytime, with a car park charging a small fee. You will have a wonderful time exploring this very special part of history on the North Norfolk Coast
Holt Country Park
Holt Country Park is set on 100 acres of mixed woodland and is a Green Flag award winner. Open all year round for the public to enjoy. It is situated on the edge of the Norfolk Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty very close to us here at mYminiBreak North Norfolk Camping & Glamping.
Holt Country Park is managed by the Council's countryside team to make sure there is something for everyone to enjoy. They cater to a wide variety of different interests. The park attracts visits from wildlife enthusiasts, dog walkers, families, community groups, and people looking for a relaxing stroll.
When you walk into the tranquil woodland, dominated by Scots pines and native broadleaves, it's easy to understand why. As we move through the seasons come changes in the beautiful displays of flowers that you can find, from orchids in the summer to snowdrops in the winter. The rich ground flora supports an abundant array of wildlife including goldcrests, greater spotted woodpeckers and deer, amongst many others.
North Norfolk Steam Railway
From the smart Victorian seaside resort of Sheringham to the Georgian town of Holt, the North Norfolk Railway runs through the county’s most stunning coastal and countryside scenery.
Operated almost entirely by Volunteers from all walks of life, the line is East Anglia’s premier heritage railway. A day out here is not to be missed. Experience a time gone by and treat your loved ones to an experience like no other!

Holt Woodland Archery & Air Rifle Range
Set in 11 acres of beautiful woodland, Holt Archery & Air Gun Club offer a safe, friendly environment for an outdoor experience like no other. All are welcome, beginners and pros alike, training and equipment is included.
All profits go back into the running of the clubs, to keep this an affordable activity for you and your family. Coaching for individuals is available and can accommodate groups of up to 20 people at a time.
If you have your own equipment you can use the site anytime, any day, they have an honesty box for donations.
